Fooling With Julia

Here's one of my favorite images of Julia from last weekend. I started fiddling with it in photoshop last night and liked the results of this soft focus!

Tonight Scott and I are meeting with Pooja - she and her fiancee Greg are booking their June 2009 wedding with us! She is also an old high school friend of my daughter, Wendy. We are really excited to get to photograph this wedding as it is over two days with one of them being a traditional Indian ceremony. I can't wait to see the vibrant colors and let the "West Coast Scott" go crazy!

I also talked with Erica this morning and we are doing her July 2009 wedding! Unfortunately it is on my wedding anniversary, July 3rd. But Anne is being very understanding and I'm sure that I'll be able to make it up to her earlier or later that week. It will be our 27th!

This weekend is Shannon's SEAS swim team banquet where I will do my annual slideshow of images from the last year. As her team has practically doubled in size it is also a much bigger project! I'll share some of those photos here soon so you can see how much fun this is!

Take care and come back soon. Remember - leave us some comments. We would love to hear what you all are thinking! See ya!

More Julia!

This past weekend I had another opportunity to see Julia and her family in beautiful Mount Morris, NY! It was one of our rare spring days that you wish would never end - mid 70's, a slight breeze, and lots of sun!

Julia, however, woke up with a small chip on her shoulder - but that went away as we went along. We set up with a black plush background and a couple studio lights with octaboxes. She isn't quite sitting up for very long so Charlie kept her propped up from behind the background when she started listing!

After some of that we had a quick lunch and then setup on the porch for some family portraits. More shots out in the backyard (well, someone's backyard!) and then back inside to the studio lights for a few more tries at some smiles.

This is where Julia lit up! Ann singing her funny song and making faces finally got some great smiles! See for yourself! What a cutie!

Image from Kyle!

When Scott and I first arrived in Santa Fe at the Workshops we met a young man, Kyle Murphy, that an airport limo service had just dropped off. Unfortunately, we were all a few hours earlier than everyone else and it was a little chilly to stand outside a locked door hoping that someone would come to work early! So, being the great guys we are, we "adopted" Kyle and took him under our wing. Over the week we came to see Kyle as a terrific young photographer and a great person.

We both see him traveling the world, meeting new people, and shooting them - no not the Army - with a camera! The body of work that he has now is amazing and he'll only get better from here. Kyle sent this image that he took of me at Hyde Park, New Mexico as we were waiting for full sunset to happen.

As soon as Kyle has a website we'll definitely be linking to it so the rest of you can enjoy his imagery as much as we do!
